HACKENSACK, NJ – June 3, 2025 – Support continues to build across District 37 as a new slate of respected Hackensack leaders have joined Councilman Gerard Carroll Sr. in endorsing Yitz Stern and Rosemary Hernandez Carroll for New Jersey State Assembly.

New Endorsements Include:

·  Hackensack Councilwoman-Elect Sonya Clark Collins

·  Hackensack Board of Education President Jennifer Harris

·  Hackensack BOE Members:

•       Demetrius Carroll

•       Gina Gilmore

•       Leila Amirhamzeh

· Former Hackensack BOE President Daniel Kirsch

These trusted community voices represent the pulse of Hackensack — educators, advocates, and public servants who understand what strong, responsive leadership looks like. Their decision to endorse Stern and Hernandez Carroll reflects the growing consensus that these candidates are best equipped to advocate for families, students, and working people across the district.

“This campaign has always been rooted in partnership,” said Rosemary Hernandez Carroll. “When people who are doing the work on the ground lend their support, it speaks volumes about the kind of leadership voters are asking for — leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers.”

The latest endorsements follow weeks of deep community engagement from both candidates. From canvassing neighborhoods to attending cultural and civic events, Stern and Hernandez Carroll continue to build trust through visibility and action. Their campaign focuses on the issues that matter most — housing affordability, quality public schools, safer neighborhoods, and support for small businesses.

“Hackensack has always been a cornerstone of this district,” said Yitz Stern. “These endorsements mean more because they come from leaders who know firsthand what our communities are facing. Rosemary and I are committed to being present, prepared, and accountable in Trenton.”
